1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Kintsugi ("the app", "the service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.
2. Description of Service
Kintsugi is a habit tracking application designed to help users build and maintain positive habits at their own pace. The app provides features including habit logging, a visual shrine progression system, journal reflections, and companion mascots. The service is provided as-is and is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
3. Account & Authentication
To use Kintsugi, you may sign in using Google Sign-In via Firebase Authentication. By signing in, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information through your Google account
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
- Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

4. User Content
You retain ownership of any content you create within Kintsugi, including habit entries, journal reflections, and other personal data. By using the app, you grant us permission to store this content securely via Firebase for the purpose of providing the service to you.
You agree not to use the app to store or transmit content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Kintsugi in a manner consistent with its intended purpose as a personal habit tracker. You agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app's systems or other users' data
- Use the app for any commercial purpose without permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service
6. Availability & Updates
We strive to keep Kintsugi available and functional, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue features of the app at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, design, graphics, artwork (including shrine designs, ghost jelly mascots, and visual elements), code, and branding associated with Kintsugi are the property of Kintsugi and its creators. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app without explicit written permission.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Kintsugi is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.
Kintsugi is a habit tracking tool and is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or emergency service.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kintsugi and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, loss of profits, or damages resulting from service interruptions.
10. Account Termination
You may stop using Kintsugi at any time. If you wish to have your account and data deleted, contact us at sydney@saa-media.com and we will remove your data from Firebase.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in behavior that is harmful to the service or other users.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
12. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
